Desperation: Nuisance

from - smijer

Bush's latest attack on Kerry is based on Kerry's wordsmithmanship where it concerns his goal of reducing terrorism to a nuisance. Ezra points out that this is also a miltary goal. From Brent Scrowcrott, via Pandagon:

"Can we win the war on terrorism? Yes, I think we can, in the sense that we can win the war on crime. There is going to be no peace treaty on the battleship Missouri in the war on terrorism, but we can break its back so that it is a horrible nuisance and not a paralyzing influence on our societies."

This is but one reason I say the Bush team is desperate. They are now busy denying reality in any conceivable way to make their position seem "tougher" than their opponents'.

America, remember, John Kerry is and was an excellent debater. George Bush is not an eloquent speaker. We must not choose a president on the basis of who is the more eloquent. We must look closely at the men.

The Bush administration has denied reality for four years and have successfully gotten about half of the electorate to deny it with them. Now is no time change tactics.

Lilspring, the more I look at the men the sicker I get. Distant cousins, both members of the same secret society, both agree on almost all policy they only disagree on how the policy is implemented.

Right now my choice has been narrowed down to Ralph Cobb, Michael Peroutka, Ralph Nadar or Michael Badnarik. My wife swears that she is going to write in for Dr. Phil.

There was a time when my wife and I were both serious about politics. As Bob Dylan once said "I was so much older then, I am younger than that now."
