I'm not surprised. Bush has built his career on being underestimated so that he can perform, in a pinch, above expectations and win accolades for it. He became a politician, started ranching, and started droppin' his g's and talkin' to Amurcins so that he could brand himself as just a regaller strait-talkin' guy.

He's no genius, but he isn't the dufus that he successfully baits a lot of his opposition into attacking him as.
