Military Economics

from - Buck

By closing military bases it has been calculated that the country will recognize a 48.8 billion dollar savings over a 20-year period. That means we will be saving 2.44 billion dollars per year. But we are spending over 1.5 billion per week spreading liberty and freedom in Iraq. We will spend more in 9 months in Iraq than we will save in 20 years under Mr. Rumsfeld’s plan. If you really want to save money then do the right thing. Support our troops. Bring them home.

Sure--as long as you give the money back to the taxpayers so we can buy our own weapons.

A pollyanna view of the world doesn't eradicate that there will always be people with an affinity for darkness and evil deeds.

Killing civilians and destroying their homes is about as evil and dark as it gets Terry. And it is entirely possible that those with an affinity to darkness and evil deeds can reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. There is nothing pollyannaish about non-military solutions. And a military solution is no solution at all.
