'90 wasn't a particularly good year for music. Grunge hadn't really set in yet, and a lot of the pickings were '80's left-overs... Still, there were a couple of nuggets in the pan.

Uh, I was born in 1968. I don't see what the big deal is. (The Top 100 for 1986, my graduation year, is not worth playing this game with.) Did you happen to mean "why didn't I graduate in 1968?"

erm... yes.

Uh, I was born in 1968. I don't see what the big deal is.

I didn't look it up, but I was assuming '68 would have been full of the Stones, Beatles, Dylan, and a few others... but, let's see...

yeah, far better than '90... no Dylan, unless you count Manfred Mann's cover of the Mighty Quinn. A couple Beatles, a couple Stones, and a couple of ooooooh Steppenwolf. Not to mention Aretha Franklin, Simon & Garfunkle, & Donovan.

You could have at least fixed my typo!! :)

And yea...I was thinking the same thing about wishing I graduated in the 60's.

I was 10 years old in 1968 and the music rocked! I had forgotten how bad the music sucked in 1976 until I looked at the list. Of course what I listened to did not make Casey Kasem's list.

If any of these songs were to come across the airwaves today I would not turn the station though:

5. Play That Funky Music, Wild Cherry
8. 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover, Paul Simon
9. Love Is Alive, Gary Wright
18. Bohemian Rhapsody, Queen
27. Sweet Love, Commodores
33. Golden Years, David Bowie
37. Dreamweaver, Gary Wright
49. Lowdown, Boz Scaggs
51. Dream On, Aerosmith
56. Fooled Around And Fell In Love, Elvin Bishop
77. Rhiannon, Fleetwood Mac
96. Rock And Roll All Nite, Kiss
97. The Boys Are Back In Town, Thin Lizzy

Helluva fun exercise. I can't wait to let my wife take a crack at it tonight. It will be a stroll down memory lane.

Ain't it amazing how fast 30 years worth of sand can roll through the hour glass?
