Not So Good

from - smijer

A late coming superbowl thought -- while it's understandable that the NFL wanted to follow up their success from last year with aging British rockers at half-time, it became clear this year that the Stones were not the way to go. Don't get me wrong. I love the Stones... but this was horrible. They should have stuck with Paul... or moved on to Floyd...

It was pretty bad. The only thing to marvel over was the fact that Mick can still act that way all things considered.

I have never seen a halftime show that I actually enjoyed.

But Pink Floyd could definitely change that.

the Kinks?

I liked the show, but it was mainly out of amazement that Mick can still strut at his age.

The Kinks would be a good choice (I think they're one of the most successful survivors of the '60s), but I'd go more in the direction of a garage/seedy bar band sound: J. Geils, George Thorogood, etc.

Pink Floyd would be cool, given what they were able to do on the Berlin Wall. They'd certainly be a match for the pomposity of the event.
