Out of a sense of nostalgia, probably, my wife sometimes turns on reruns of Bonanza on TV. Maybe it's just my sampling, but I haven't seen an episode in which Little Joe hasn't killed somebody. I've taken to thinking of him as Little "Mass Murderer" Joe. I mean, the Cartwright family has a whole probably killed several hundred people over the course of their show. All bad guys, of course, but still. . . Not a good or realistic model for our President.

Just the other night I watched Ben Cartwright whip the shit out of two guys at the same time and they were at least 15 years younger than he was.

He didn't even breathe hard when the fight was over.

Little Joe, Adam and Hoss just stood there looking at each other incredulously.

I guess they are our model for congress.
