Thy Will Be Done

from - smijer

In some cases, apparently, praying doesn't help. Maybe the better answer is more research into GM hogs. I don't know. A priest had this to say:

The best prayer probably is, 'Thy will be done.'

This seems to be essentially telling God to do whatever He wants. Why he needs to be appealed to for this, I don't know. I guess that's why I'm not a priest.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Did you by any chance see the email that I sent to you with the story of Johnathan Bond? He has gotten my attention twice. Once when I heard him via radio in Kentucky and then he appeared at our church Friday night and I learned he lives six or eight miles away from the church. His story is so amazing. While he was hearing the medics pronounce him DOA, he was also hearing, "Ask and ye shall receive."

For me personally, each time I heard him I felt that I was hearing him for a personal reason. That God intended me to hear this story for a personal reason. The Lord really got my attention, but I am not certain yet why.
