True Sad Story

I guess those of you that read regularly noticed that I deleted my two entries entitled "A Long, True, Sad Story." I have a lot of readers that I know that read and I did not want to offend anyone mentioned in it even if it is all true. I believe that people have the ability to change and need every opportunity to get to do so without having people drag them down with negative comments. I never mentioned any names, but those who know me know who was who in my story.

Anyway, I noticed that my blog got a lot of hits from people in search of true sad stories. Why is that? Is it that people really enjoy reading about other people's miseries or does it make them feel better about their own situations and help them to think that maybe they don't have it so bad?

If you want a true sad story that will rip your heart out and make you cry out loud, watch 'The Passion of the Christ.' That did it for most everyone that I know. I tired and tried not to cry because I was one of the last ones in a packed theater and my family was split up and each of us was set next to a stranger. I was sitting next to a really large, strange looking man and I did NOT want to cry. I couldn't help it. I snotted and snorted along with the people around me.

Next, if you want true sad stories, start writing your life story. You'll have a ton of them. Almost all of us could write a book of them by ourselves. Based on my life and my mother's, and my brother's lives, I could write enough sad stories and just plain 'holy cow' stories to write a soap opera that would last through three generations.

Anyway, I thought that was an interesting note. I hope you all have a good evening.
